I had always wanted to go to Venice, while on the way there we agreed to go on the gondola as soon as we got there. We started off in the Bacino di San Marco, and headed towards the Doge's Palace. Shortly after our gondola went under the Bridge of Sighs. As we went around the old canals, the architecture looked amazing, centuries old (some in need of repair / restoration).

The canals smelled of seaweed! Passed loads of bridges, tourists on each one looking down at the canals below (which we were on). The weather was hot, perfect for a relaxing ride on the gondola, while taking loads of photos of the journey for my Flickr account here

Eventually we went all the way around, and was on the canal heading back to the basin, to get off, and continue our day in Venice. Or Venezia as they call it there.

Venice excursion - Gondola ride

You would prefer not to take a water taxi in Venice, which is extremely costly. Venice is an exceptionally walk able city or you can take the vaporetto (the water transport) to get around. The going rate for a gondola ride is 80 euro or about $112 at the present swapping scale. For that you get a 40 to 50 moment ride. I'm not certain I'd truly need to be in a gondola for two hours; there's a great deal to see and do strolling around the city.. Be that as it may, it sounds like a sensible arrangement. At this moment, the Biennale is going ahead in the city. The primary presentation territories are in the Guarding and Arsenal; however there are shows everywhere throughout the city. I burned through six or seven hours simply meandering around the Biennale on Sunday and should backpedal to see more. Venice is an incredible spot for strolling around appreciating the craftsmanship and construction modeling.
